Over 80 percent of Russian companies feel threatened by financial crisis
81 percent of Russian companies see global financial crisis a threat to their businesses and 9.5 percent believe the crisis will affect them in part, shows a survey last week research company Cornerstone, published by the newspaper “Vedomosti”. Only 9.5 percent of Russian businesses do not think the financial crisis will affect them.
Furthermore, companies who believe that the crisis will affect their business (90% of queries) already developed or even ready with a plan to reduce its costs. The survey was done between the management of 42 workers in Russia (Russian and foreign) companies from various sectors with an annual turnover of around 500 million dollars.
In sectors of the economy in Russia most concerned about the occurrence of crisis - virtually all requests made by the banking sector and industry. From the field of real estate concerned by the crisis are 86 percent of the companies. From media holdings around half feel threatened by financial crisis.
The most sheltered on the impact of financial crisis are companies in the field of mining and marketing of oil and gas. Representatives of these companies generally do not make haste to draw conclusions and do not consider it necessary to import tension in the situation.
The main measures that they intend to take to deal with the crisis respondents are stepping up controls on spending the funds from their own budgets (76%) and considering the question of optimizing the number of employees (52%).
Next in importance as measures to tackle the crisis companies determined to freeze the implementation of some new projects (38%) and sales of foreign primary business of company assets (24%).
Furthermore, 60 percent of foreign and 25 percent of Russian companies intend to reduce the premiums of their employees. Sectors to this measure are willing to have recourse about half of the banks, one third of insurance companies and 27 percent of real estate companies. On the other hand, media companies and those in the field of oil and gas does not plan any cuts bonuses for employees.
Based on the survey analysts predict that it is possible to slow the average growth rate of wages in Russia for July to an annual base is 18 percent.
